Wiz Khalifa's Growing Buzz

Wiz Khalifa speaks on his increasing fan base. He talks about his shows, his grind in the studio and clothing line. Can't knock the hustle. Of course there is some weed references. It wouldn't be Wiz if it wasn't.

Justin Bieber: Singer Turned Rapper?

Justin Bieber "freestyles" over Cam'ron and Vado's Speaking In Tongues beat. As much as I want to believe he freestyled this, which I don't, Im only half convinced that he wrote the lyrics by himself. Or most of them. Pretty good for young Justin either way.

No Need To Fear T.I. Is Here

So T.I. is headed back to prison for violating his parole. Only God and T.I. know why he would allow himself to willingly get into trouble again. Before his day in court the rapper just so happens to hear about a man on a building in Atlanta, who was threatening to jump. T.I. made his way to the scene and talked the guy down. It may look like a publicity stunt to try to get his sentenced lessened, or just maybe T.I. is just a good man who finds himself in bad situations. I'm thinking its a little bit of both. Check below for what T.I. had to say about people questioning his sincerity.

BET Top 10 Rapper's of the 21st Century

BET held its first show with Hip-Hop DJ's and producers voting on who are the best in the game.
First and foremost, I feel like this list was rigged from the beginning with the rules. The rules were that the only people allowed to be on this list had to have released their solo album no earlier than 1999. I personally believe this was a vendetta to keep Jay-Z off the list. But it goes without saying that he tops all of these rappers, who in some way, shape or form, have been influenced by him.
The voting criteria that each mc was judged on, which I believe was not abided by, was, flow, lyricism, subject matter, digital swagger, cultural impact, and cream(cash flow).
The bottom half of the list doesn't matter, to me, so much, but the top three is what I feel was greatly misguided. Kanye should have been number one, Em at two, and Wayne at three. But hey what do I know, it wasn't my list nor was I invited to vote.

The list is as follows:
10. Rick Ross
9. Jadakiss
8. Young Jeezy
7. Drake
6. Ludacris
5. T.I.
4. 50 Cent
3. Kanye West
2. Lil Wayne
1. Eminem

'Nuff Respect 2 Rapper Game From N*E*R*D

Pharrell, Chad, and Shay consider Game underrated and the quintessential mc. WOW. That is a heavy proclamation to make. But the Neptunes have only associated themselves with some of the best in the business so maybe whatever Game plans to put out in the near future will excite the rest of us. God knows Game could use a hit album right now.

Cyhi Da Prynce: Royal Flush Mixtape

Lil Wayne Letter #9 From Riker's: "I'm Back"

Below Wayne lets his fans know how he's dealing with the recent move to solitary confinement due to an infraction he had earlier this year. If there is one thing he said that everyone needs to be mindful of its the latter half of the letter: Talent is best nurtured in solitude. Fans can keep that as inspiration in their own lives. But all other rappers should be aware. The self-proclaimed "Best Rapper Alive" will be out soon, and he is still aiming for that spot. A setback is only a setup for a comeback.

What’s poppin?!
By now I’m guessing that you all have heard about my recent relocation to the bing, which is punitive segregation. Basically, no T.V., no radio, no snacks/junkfood, and one phone call a week. This punishment has been handed to me for my earlier MP3 incident. I admit, I fu#ked up and now I must deal with the consequences. As I write this, I only have 25 days left, and it’ll be even less than that when you read this. So honestly, I’m fine. Obviously, this gives me a lot of time to myself and a lot of alone time with my thoughts, which can be creatively dangerous. I do miss being able to hear from my family everyday but once a week will have to suffice. To them, I apologize. I’m still able to receive mail so reading and responding is still a huge part of my day. I’d like to thank everyone that sent me B-Day cards and wishes… that was terrific. You all are wonderful, simply wonderful.
Well anyways, I just wanted you all to know that I’m good and I’ll be good! But at the end of the day, I did it all for music!!! By the way, thanx for downloading the I Am Not A Human Beingalbum. And if you haven’t done so already, please do! And if you have, do so again! When I get out I’m going to put the album in stores and shoot more videos for it. Which songs should I shoot videos to? Also, we will be adding bonus songs and packaging the new Nino Brown DVD with the in store album! You’re welcome.
Talent is best nurtured in solitude… Be home soon!

2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards: The Cyphers

For five years BET has attempted, and I use that word loosely, to compile a show to honor the best in Hip-hop of that year. Unfortunately, majority of the show is foolery. But there is one thing that everyone can look forward to....The Cyphers.

First up we have, Wiz Khalifa(thumbs down for Wiz who recycled his rap from a previous song off his mixtape, How Fly. I hope he didn't think his fans weren't going to pick up on this..Shame On You Wiz), Bones Brigante(Bones let it be known why he is the 106 & Park Freestyle Friday Champion, which is the belt he held on his shoulders), Yelawolf( kudos for his captivating fast flow) and Raekwon(though he is the only vet in this cypher, surprisingly, he didn't dominate like he should have).

Next up Tyga, Kuniva, Diamond, and Royce Da 5'9. Respect to Diamond for trying to hold her own in this round. She came up short, but she gets an A for effort. Royce Da 5'9 dropped lines that insist you take a second listen.

This round of the cypher was just ok to me. If anything I felt like Busta Rhymes should have spit something but thats neither here nor there. It probably would have ended like the first cypher with Raekwon, the vets holding back. Reek Da Villain, Zawcain, and Mickey Factz all had decent rhymes, but still a very blah cypher. Almost unworthy of being mentioned.

This next cypher I like to call: The Father's Day Cypher. This was my second favorite cypher and it includes West Coast legend, Ice Cube and his sons and Hip-Hop pioneer, Rev Run and his sons. Rev Run may be the most old school in this round, but I feel like he won, just because he brought us back to the basics. But both fathers are clearly molding some great new comers.

Last but certainly not least: the GOOD MUSIC CYPHER. This is the circle of winners. Everyone held their own. Kanye's squad, decked in their Rosewood attire ripped this beat effortlessly, with out breaking a sweat in their suits.Good Music. The movement lives.

Waka Flocka Flamed At BET Exec Stephen Hill

Following the taping of this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards, up and coming Atlanta heavy-hitter, Waka Flocka Flame and BET Executive Vice President, Stephen Hill, had some beef grilling between them. Check below to see what Waka had to say to Funkmaster Flex during an interview on Hot 97.

60 Minutes: Eminem

Your favorite rapper's list of favorite rappers most likely includes this man. That is assuming your favorite rapper has any sense. Em is the biggest selling artist of the past decade. Thats a very big deal for an artist that is the minority in an industry dominated by African-American men.
Eminem had the most sales for a rap album released this year. Note worthy in a climate where music doesn't sell as well as it did in the past. In the 60 minutes interview, Marshall gives Anderson Cooper a detailed look at his life, from adversity, to fame, and everything in between. Much respect is due to Eminem as he has many of today's rappers trying to step their game up to his standards. Interview video clip below.

Young Money's Queen Makes History

Nicki Minaj becomes the FIRST female rapper with THE MOST entries on The Billboard 100 chart. The chart toppers consist of her single, Your Love, and her $50,000 verses on her most famous features that include Ludacris' My Chick Bad, Lil' Wayne's Knockout, Trey Songz' Bottom's Up, Usher's Lil Freak, Letting Go(Dutty Love) by Sean Kingston, and Jay Sean's It Ain't The End. Veteran female mc's can hate the Harajuku Barbie all they want, Nicki has every right to be cocky.

Money For Trees: The Wiz Khalifa Edition

Pittsburgh's own, Wiz Khalifa, rising star in the rap game, is known for his high-spirited flows and weed dominated lyrics. During this summer's Rock The Bells Tour, Wiz Khalifa proudly reveals that he spends an easy $10,000 a month, on his cannabis habit.
Many tree lovers are probably envious but is it really sensible to put that much money into something that is clearly a guilty pleasure, without having any legit impact in the Hip-Hop industry? Sure Wiz has a great fan base, now, but he has not acquired the status or support that is needed to have longevity.
Instead of investing in weed it may be a good idea for him to start making some business moves to enhance his career.

Somebody Get Their Grandfather

Ok..so it is understood that once you get older you become less concerned with what people have to say about your attire. You just wear what fits you. I'll take that theory.
But only the Good Lord Up Above knows why Bill Cosby thought it was appropriate to come out like this..
If he sincerely thought this was a plausible outfit, with a sober mind, then maybe this man should cease trying to point the finger at whats going on with other black people and find out what's wrong with him..
smh..
and where was Camille when he walked out with this on??
shame on her too..
whether we want to agree with it or not, significant others are a representation of the other..

God has favor on my life?

..as a person who grew up going to church i have heard about every possible phrase that "christians" and i use that term loosely...have to say...
one of my favorites would be:"he will never put more on you than you can bear"
you know what i have to say to that..
if it doesnt kill you it will make you stronger... well in this case the more he put on me..is the more i want to kill myself..
and thats a strong feeling...

.they dont get it.so they not with it.

they said stop complaining you have so much going for you.
people are so willing to tell you that but wont bear the cross with you.
i never asked to be born. didnt beg for my life.
yet i endure so much strife..sleepless nights..like i asked for this.
i pray to be something great.to change the pace on this life that God has graced.
but my efforts are never enough..always in vain, followed by pain..
yet in this life i remain..still in this one lane...alone
some have pacified me with companionship along the road..
i look to all four directions at this point and just see me.
come take a walk in my vans and see the complaints extend beyond the surface.
walking around with a broken heart.
an apprehensive spirit
and a bitter soul
are not things i asked for
but they are what i was cursed with.
or shall i say blessed with.
"stop complaining and be thankful for what you have"
i often ask myself how do they see the potential oozing from my aura
when i cant even fathom the sunlight of the next day.
you telling me you know i can
when my body is telling me dont even try.
how can i have so many behind me
but none with me.
i cry so much now
its not even because im sad
its because i pity myself
i wish i had the balls to find a way to end my life.
maybe one day i can find a way.
this is probably the realest shit I NEVER wrote....
ever feel like the people who say trust me, i got you, and promise you forever are the very ones who find the most disturbing and unexpected way to fuck you over..
well an easy solution to that problem is to stop trusting people all together..
any and everybody who ever told me to trust them and expected me to hold them at a higher position than anyone else....
YOU ARE DEAD TO ME LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD..

Mid-Day Laugh

i hate laughing at people's children..but to know who this turns out to be makes the laugh that much greater...
this respectable young man looks like he's going to turn into a positive adult that will change the world....right?

well...so much for that...

Be You

Since Drake has emerged in the music scene many thoughts have been raised about him..and granted im not one of those listeners who think Drake is going to completely change the rap game i do however enjoy some of his music. But the fact that I enjoy some of his music does NOT mean that I am in complete approval of some of his public relations choices. He can chill with as many "thugs" as he wants and be on a track with some of the most hood in the industry..BUT that does not excuse the fact that you, sir Aubrey Drake Graham are from Toronto, CANADA..
i dont think that needs any further elaboration.you are from CANADA.so since when did Canada become thugsville. Last time I checked Toronto had one of the LOWEST crime rates in North America. So why dear sir are you throwing your B's up in this nationally published magazine. Do you know that gang banging can get you hurt? How about falsely claiming a gang affiliation...my dude you might not even be here for the fans to thank you later. Im sure you have seen where throwing b's up has gotten your CEO Wayne.and he is more believable than you are..
smh Mr. Graham..just when did this rapper/singer/actor have time to be bangin on the "gutta streets" of Toronto? Some one please let me know..
It is shameful to know that being a wholesome person isnt enough for you to be accepted as a rapper. Im afraid for your safety Drake. Who is going to protect you while Wayne is doing that bid...oh maybe your blood fam right? RIGHT(pure sarcasm)
Why pose? The rap game isnt Degrassi, you dont have to act for the fans man. Just be you. If you even know who that is, because we the listeners have no idea.

Match Made In Heaven?

..i was slightly skeptical about where this relationship might have been headed
but as i continue to see these two together...
they started to grow on me..and have surprisingly became one of my
favorite celebrity couples....
do i hear wedding bells??

Mouth Full Of......

why does memphis bleek feel the need to respond back to beanie sigel's shots at jay-z..
by saying that jay aint gonna respond....ok so why are you sir responding defending jay..
it amazes me to see this man come out the clear blue sky..
i dont think it means anything bleek if u speak on it..
instead of riding hov's sack so hard..why dont you get back in the studio..NOT
today we learn the difference between loyalty and riding another man's jewels..
i know jay is putting food on you and your family's table and i dont EVER promote
biting the hand that feeds you... but get a backbone my g...smh

little man.big temper....Gary Coleman goes INNNNN..

Gary Coleman clearly has a potty mouth..
granted this chick interviewing him is trying to throw him under the bus
the language he uses is just baffling.
but it made my day.
